Description: A very god book that describes some of what it is like to live in the contemporary urban ghetto:A very god book that describes some of what it is like to live in the contemporary urban ghetto: the practical example being Jane & Finch in Toronto. However, I currently live one block from Jane & Finch, near a school that could be McLarens. Although I see, and have seen all my life, incidents such as the ones that are described iin the book, they are by far the only ones. My high school, one of those nearby, is now also known as the only Toronto High School where a student has been fatally shot. Although there are certainly many such incidents and examples, it would be wrong to read this book and abandon these people to their fate. Although the book does help communicate some of the difficulties of living here, it neglects to point out that there are many positive things about living in such an ethnically diverse neighbourhood....
