Final Solution: A Story Of Detection

Chabon's attempt at a mystery novella, this book takes strengths and weaknesses from that genre. The major letdown is the loss of all the character developement I loved in Cavalier & Clay. Chabon is really trying to find himself with this book, and looking to stories he admires, but I'm afraid he may lose his personal style in the process.

This was a quiet, contemplative mystery regarding a missing parrot who may know some secret information. While the mystery itself was not that engaging, I did enjoy reading about Sherlock Holmes in his retirement years and how taking care of bees became a solace to him after years of detection.
