Feist continues the saga of the Conclave with this sequel novel. Following Squire Talwin Hawkins, formerly known as Talon Silver Hawk. Talwin has now established his reputation as a preeminent swordsman, using that reputation the Conclave exact there promise of service from Talwin by asking him to join the employ of one Duke Kaspar of Olasko.. The man who Talwin believes killed his family.
Feist writes the Conclave of Shadows with a more intimate and personal style than some of his former books. The result is a shorter novel that feels more like a good fireside story than a true high fantasy epic for which Feist has been known. Despite this difference, the Conclave of Shadows as a series delivers the goods and makes for a satisfying and enjoyable read.
