Oryx and Crake

Loved it! In spite of being a Canadian author, this was my first of Ms. Atwood's novels. It was thoroughly enjoyable. A look at where humanity might be headed in the future (perhaps nearer than we think) I was surprised that we don't have more of this type of novel being produced. In the days when nuclear war was the big danger, there were all kinds of futuristic novels exploring potential paradigmns. Now we have few.
