World Without End

Tristam Flattery, an innocent naturalist in the Kingdom of Farr, is swept up in a wave of political intrigue that has claimed more than a few lives. A plant, kingfoil, which can be made in to a physic believed to be a cure for any ailment, suddenly stops producing seeds, and Tristam is sent on a mission to find more of the mysterious plant. Unwittingly he is caught up in the plans of many power-hungry nobles, and can make no sense of any of their purposes for him. Everyone seems to want to use him for some reason, but the destiny hidden within himself will manifest the true plan of Tristam's life.

While confusing and a tad long-winded at times, the story is good, and very well structured for a climactic ending. There is a lot of political intrigue, though it's not completely overbearing. The writing is such that you almost feel as Tristam does, and it's very engaging. Easy to get caught up in some parts of this book.
