This was a page turner! Just when it started to seem like things were getting boring, some new catalyst would spark another adventure, and my eyes would be glued to the page. MacHale writes in a very realistic style that is impressive in its honesty, if not its sophistication. The characters are true to life, while the plot remains fantastic, giving the story a believability present in the best of fantasies. Do not simply write this off as a children's novel. MacHale is a great storyteller, and Bobby Pendragon a character to love. |
