I then went home and read it straight through. None of the Plum books will ever equal the first couple, because they were so new and funny. But this one comes close. The family dinners were all funny, but the one with the taxidermist had me in tears. I anxiously await #14.

Full of touching and humorous stories. I enjoy the quotes at the beginning of each story and found one I especially appreciated at the beginning of "Grandma's Garden".

I also enjoyed the story and advice contained in "Minimaxims for My Godson".

If you can't change facts, try bending your attitudes.

Don't wear your raincoat in the shower.

This is book three for Calamity Jayne, but it isn't the best of the series. It has its moments but falls short of the first two. Having said that it was still fun and I look forward to the next installment of Calamity.

Stories that will make you smile and some that will bring a tear to even the most cynical eye. Since I can cry watching Hallmark commercials, I'm definitely an easy touch. Most of this type of book gets so overly sentimental that you go into sugar-shock, but this one wasn't over-the-top. Most of the stories just illustrated the miracles of day to day life. I was especially touched by the story "The Blue Washcloth". With the short stories/chapters this made great bathroom reading....
