The story is well constructed with the exception of errors related to cultural norms for the time periods represented. For example: the baby's car seat is mentioned several times in the context that portable car seats are used today. Car seats were a rarity in 1964, seat belt use was also a rarity, and car seats were not used to transport children extravehicularly. Another instance was the mention of a new record player in 1989. Sorry...but new record players in '89 were not the norm. It would have been a cassette tape player...and the tail end of that technology at that.

The prose is fitting of the title. Characters spend a lot of time reflecting on their memories.....this is the mechanism she uses to give insight into the characters.

Her writing makes me think of Jodi Picoult.
