Its nice to read a book about the himalaya that isn't about a spiritual journey.

When Martin is passed over for the postmaster position with the appointment of the slick and wiley, Nick Marshall, and when he loses his girlfriend Elaine, to the same, he begins to explore the possibility of dealing with things in a completely different fashion than what would be expected of him. With the help of an American academic, Martin taps into his heretofore unknown "wild side" and the meek and mild protagonist becomes something very different.

Even though the series came out a long time ago, I definitely want to get it and watch it.
