It&#39;s the kind of philosophy incredibly arrogant 14 year old boys eat up.  When you&#39;re convinced you&#39;re smarter than everyone around you, this is appealing stuff.  Even though I find it distasteful now, I think Atlas Shrugged, We the Living, and The Fountainhead are a phase it probably does no real harm for kids to go through (Man, I feel old saying that&#33;) as long as they continue to broaden their reading horizons and don&#39;t get stuck at this particular level of mental development ... then they&#39;ll turn into unbearably smug, close-minded Republican gasbags.
